The Air Jordan 1 is a basketball shoe designed by Peter Moore and first released in 1985. It was the first in a line of shoes created for and endorsed by Michael Jordan, who was a rookie in the NBA at the time. The shoe features a leather upper, a rubber sole, and the iconic "Wings" logo on the side. The Air Jordan 1 was notable for its use of color blocking and its high-top design. It was also the first basketball shoe to feature the Nike "Swoosh" logo. The shoe was banned by the NBA for not meeting the league's uniform standards, but Jordan continued to wear them and was fined for each game he played in them. The Air Jordan 1 is considered a classic and continues to be re-released in various colorways to this day.
